Typically, if you've studied Economics in HS it can be a bit of an advantage for introductory economics courses, as they share a few foundational concepts. That being said, the overlap in content between the two isn't that large. Besides, second year economics is entirely different to HSC economics, as the former is far more technically focused.Hi,
Seeing as how economics majors at university don't require HSC economics as a prerequisite, I was wondering how long it would typically take for universities to cover the Yr11-12 content? A semester? A year?
you dun goofed.i sort of feel like knowing (and tutoring) hsc economics disadvantaged me, because you get taught a "wishy-washy" form of summary macroeconomics during high school, and I fell into the trap of using that knowledge to answer questions.
2-3 weeks (at most) for micro/macro each iirc
I just did economics this semester and know people who did economics last year (in high school), and the stuff that they knew got covered incredibly quickly (same timeline OzKo stated).
I am actually going to sort of disagree with this, by speaking from my experience. As everyone else has said, less than your first 4 weeks (of both introductory macro + micro)
