I'm sure this has been answered before but the search doesn't work.

How much, if any, of the preliminary course appear in the HSC paper?

There are things here and there from the prelim course which you'll go over again in the HSC course, but it's not much. Most of it is new content. Besides, in the HSC they rarely ask questions requiring preliminary concepts. (that's not to say that they don't, though)

I think you just need to know more of the skills and calculations... In terms of theoretical knowledge, I would say almost zero (However it does serve as good base knowledge).
