Have you ever been to a hsc study conference one before?Originally posted by ToO LaZy ^*
it's useless!
Yes... as long as I can read Nietzsche while the others are being indoctrinated... I mean being exposed to Christian ideas... I would object on philosophical grounds which should be valued higher than religious ones. If a Christian/Muslim fundamentalist objected to sex ed. or evolution being taught, the schools would have to comply - would they not. Hypocrisy in the extreme - unless of course they are accommodating - then I would withdraw my objection.Originally posted by Xayma
I have the attention span for 1hr of bible reading, just not the self-discpline to resist arguing it.

I do not by any means know atheism as a result; even less as an event: it is a matter of course with me, from instinct. I am too inquisitive, too questionable, too exuberant to stand for any gross answer. God is a gross answer, an indelicacy against us thinkersat bottom merely a gross prohibition for us: you shall not think! Why I Am So Clever, 1
No but it is a requirement at this conference. You go to this conference in agreement that you will sit the 1hr of bible study.Originally posted by picaresque
Does the daily bible session somehow assist your ability to study? Help you focus? Find time to get your much needed sleep?
