my concept was "How To Save A Life"

i didnt get to complete the number of art works i had in mind but im pretty proud of what i managed to complete :3

style: abstract and surreal

here are my 5 artworks.

http://fc33.deviantart.com/fs36/i/2008/263/1/b/GoodBye_by_DillyRedPie.jpg name: Good Bye

i was meant to do 8. cant remember the other 3 i wanted to do

tis not the best work, im sure others have better but for me to produce those 5 artworks is like nothing ive done before so, im proud regardless of the mark i receive and yeah :s

months... it was all filmed in order... everything from the dream bit was done on the weekend before it was due (no sleep)

including set and puppet construction it would be over 1000+ hours to do... for 4-5 months my life was all about going to bed at 3am every morning and editing/shooting for hours (5-6+) each day

it was worth it at the end (emphasis on "the end")...

first time with stop motion but long time film editor...

well i dont have any major talent in any of the art fields but film... but doing a plain film was 2 basic (i thought)

so i looked around and decided to pick computer animation then swapped to stop motion... i liked the overall effect of an animation i seen called "the periwig maker" (sensational!) so i used that to build mine as a basis of my thoughts and ideas... the markers are always easily impressed by stop motion videos... like the stuff that have gotten into artexpress in previous years wasnt the best stuff i had ever seen (although they were good for the amount of time they put into it.) so to some degree ive tried to reset the marking bar for stop motion in trying to produce something "pro" from a first time animator... most of the techniques i used in the film are stuff that im pretty confident that other students have never used in their animations... (there was a lot to it)

im glad u like it.... i like the ending 2, it works well if u have some art knowledge cause theres a lot of links between the work and the animation and you can draw better links to it... most people dont have a clue in whats going on

yeah, was gonna say the markers are probably gonna enjoy your work because imo, it’s a rare medium to work with.

well, I haven’t seen any hsc student stop motion art works but id say you have defiantly set some form of a really high bar xD

don’t know much bout film techniques (besides the basics) but im sure they’d recognise and acknowledge it, nicely done ^_~

mhm mhm, I picked up on the links :D

Edvard munch’s artworks disturb me though. I like them but when I look at them I feel all depressed :s, suppose because he was to some extent. still an amazing artist though :3

anyways, I see your work making it in Artexpress. Good luck :D

haha lol thanks... I don’t find the film disturbing though... I don’t think it has the same atmosphere created when actually viewing the work, but i guess it has a dark side to it... i got a comment from a friend who said that she couldn’t watch it cause it was 2 scary HAHAHA

For my BOW i did digital photography.
Concept: "anti-art" pretty much how i hate making art. the whole process and how there is so much frustration at not getting the desired results, the need for extra patience, anger, anxiety, the never ending aspiration for everything to be absolutely perfect, constantly working under pressure knowing that the deadline is drawing nearer.

It has a greater impact when viewed in person becuase it is HUGE. 3xA1

Well I just commented your video so I won't repeat myself.

But I did a clay animation. It's good to see someone else who did stop motion too : D

Concept? I had no 'deep' or 'personal' meaning to mine, but in my VAPD I just crapped on about human emotions and such. It was just a fun idea and the song had an easy enough story line to follow. Some bits are really dodgy but ohhhhh wellz what can you do.

Bahhh ignore the shakiness, I had a craptastic tripod.

not sure if that link will work.

origionally i wanted to amke a relief sculpture a women pressed against glass ( like, u know those little pin boards and u put ur hand it and the shape of ur hand comes out the other ends cause of the movement of the pins.._ yeah.. but massive, and out of nails.

however... it was too heavy for the requirements and ur also not aloud sharp edges:(

so yeah i painted portraits of children with emphasis on the fact that perfection isnt required to create emotion and i did it because.. the intensity of kids emotions scares me sometimes

my spelling sucks

p.s the link isnt of all.. theres 9 in total

what u think?

good luck to all
