Yes, but nowadays most racial attacks occur against Indians or people from Asia or Africa. Times have changed. A famous example is the Christchurch Mosque shooting that happened about 10 years ago. Also, most attacks have been on the Jewish, Muslims, and Asians over the last 10 years.

There are so many conversations about this (https://www.facebook.com/groups/577994475588160/posts/24129952313299045/), and l am not blind to the fact that yes while ppl from my country and those around it are literal targets of racism and what-not, they sometimes also prove certain points eg 'not everyone on student visa should be let into the country', because what if more people die like this? What if worser crimes happen because australia allows other ethnicities eg russians or even americans to come in and start idk bombing places? That can happen.
Hence what l'm saying is, Australia should make it more "if you have this gpa or meet this academic benchmark, we'll let you in to study" kinda thing.

Note - I'm not for this nazism thing, or white suppremacy bs, neither am l supporting it (all races r =), but l'm just agreeing with someone saying its good to have stricter immigration policies, precisely for this reason. Like you don't allow tourists in to litter your country, do you?

Strict immigration policies alone don’t automatically make a country racist, they’re often shaped by history, population size, and economics.

What’s happening here is different. White supremacist rallies are explicitly about racial hatred and exclusion.
Pointing to China’s policies doesn’t excuse or justify far-right extremism in Australia. It’s a separate issue and a bit of a deflection.

Sure mass-immigration can cause negative impacts to the Australian economy but the supporters would have a 0% problem if white people from other nations like European countries, USA, or Canada mass immigrated to Australia. They have a problem with people of a different race. That's why this protest is branded as racist. It is clearly evident with a lot of neo-nazi leaders being cheered on by protesters in Sydney and Melbourne, and also people disrespecting a sacred Aboriginal camp area in Adelaide.

You're confused as to why people prefer higher quality immigrants over lower quality immigrants? You're confused why people want more culturally similar immigrants than dissimilar immigrants? Nobody ever voted for multiculturalism. It was never popular. It was brought in by politicians for their own ideological or political ends, or to help Australia's financial interests (in industries such as real estate). And kids were brainwashed from a young age to believe it was good because the default state of people around the world is to prefer people similar to you. I definitely agree that immigrants must follow Australian rules and regulations, and not impose their culture on everyone else. But the White Australia which we are talking about in the protests want white supremacy, not a reduction of immigration. Also, yes, I will admit that in the Palestinian protests, people did hold offensive and abhorrent signs such as "Death to Australia" and flags of terrorist groups like the Taliban. But, I haven't read any article that says that violence occurred against other people in these protests. However, in this protest, a brawl did occur between pro-palestinians and anti immigrants.
