Hi! I was thinking of doing Bach of Nursing at Usyd next year and i wondered what is the percentage of guys and girls?
Also i would like to know is it very very stressful becoming a nurse? i heard that you must make beds and clean up faeces?

There are male nurses just the area is mostly dominated by females. I'm going to take a wild guess and say male nurses probably number 10% or less. A nurse's job is more stressful than a regular job however my concept of stress has changed so to me I don't think what they do is stressful. They are responsible for giving medications, doing basic observations on patients (temperature, blood pressure, blood sugar etc.), dressing wounds, cleaning faeces and urine (although it's not that common as it is usually done by ANs not RNs). You can always choose to leave the hospital and do nursing in a GP practice, nursing home etc.
