please do not sit an exam you are not allowed to sit. please do not study for a class you are not apart of. from what you’ve said, it seems like it’s too late. you have to stick to the classes you are in now. you are screwing yourself up further by disregarding reality. i’m sorry, but it’s true. stop wasting your effort.Tbh at this point im prepared to study my ass off do do well in all my subjects in the prelim exam lpus sit the chem prelim exam even if they don't let me join.
Yeah I dont think so , but I guess its worth emailing anyway, My thought was that if I showed them I could catch up in this weeks work and the most of the other important stuff- whihc i basically already know they will be more inclined to let me in.wait can you ask to switch now or not???
im also in y11 but i go to tutoring that has already started teachign us y12 content, so i am familar with up to mod 5 chem. there are a few y11 topics that are relevant but imo you can self study them and youll be ok for y12. then again id ask someone doing y12 chem in school and someone that has done all modsYeah I dont think so , but I guess its worth emailing anyway, My thought was that if I showed them I could catch up in this weeks work and the most of the other important stuff- whihc i basically already know they will be more inclined to let me in.
Btw how much yr 11 content is involved in yr 12?
I dont want to be messing up my HSC doing this. Like do I just need to know the basics like moles and calcs or do i need to know every little detail from year 11 to do well in year 12?
omgg please stop doing any chem work. they’re not gonna let you in. you say you don’t want this messing up your hsc and yet you keep putting in effort towards chem. i’m sorry it didn’t work out but you have to stop.Yeah I dont think so , but I guess its worth emailing anyway, My thought was that if I showed them I could catch up in this weeks work and the most of the other important stuff- whihc i basically already know they will be more inclined to let me in.

i agree dont do chem work i think its out of your control. let me remind you that we have just a bit over a year of high school and it will literally fly by. when doing my accelerated 2u it wasn't my fav but it went by quickly and i did well. your life will still go on without cchem and you can def do it in uni.omgg please stop doing any chem work. they’re not gonna let you in. you say you don’t want this messing up your hsc and yet you keep putting in effort towards chem. i’m sorry it didn’t work out but you have to stop.
in most schools usually not but you can ask ig. also even if you can i DO NOT recommend this if you aren't at the very very top of your advanced english cohort right now and you are confident you will thrive in year 12 e1. ive found that e1 english is a lot about skill building as opposed to playing catch up so im not sure if you can cope if you join in y12. this is one of those situations where you are at a huge disadvantage and you should ask e1 teachers at your school if they think you're capable and up to par with current e1 studentsAlso btw guys, do you know if your allowed to pick up english extension 1 if i didn't do it in yr 11?
Yeah english extension 1 wouldn't be catch it would just be skills. Last assessment i topped english advanced in my cohort so i might ask the teachers.in most schools usually not but you can ask ig. also even if you can i DO NOT recommend this if you aren't at the very very top of your advanced english cohort right now and you are confident you will thrive in year 12 e1. ive found that e1 english is a lot about skill building as opposed to playing catch up so im not sure if you can cope if you join in y12. this is one of those situations where you are at a huge disadvantage and you should ask e1 teachers at your school if they think you're capable and up to par with current e1 students
hii im new to this thread (ive read a bit on and off the last couple of days) but im an e1 student whos ranked 1st and I agree that it is a lot about skill, theres nothing so much to catch up on from year 11 but the skill you develop. I found yr11 a learning curve which was very important to my success in the subject during my hsc, the style of e1 and the depth is very different to advanced imo. In some ways though it is way easier than advanced english, I def find it easier because you spend a lot of time with your texts and module that you develop a good understanding of it. But the best person to talk to would be your english teachers, the head of english and the e1 teacher. Im sorry for you that you couldnt pick all the subjects you wanted from the get go, you seem like a very dedicated hardworking student!Yeah english extension 1 wouldn't be catch it would just be skills. Last assessment i topped english advanced in my cohort so i might ask the teachers.
But tbh it was just a thought cuz i have been doing good, im not necessarily needing to do it
yeah defo dont pick e1 for scaling. also the difference in scaling, even if it is beneficial is so minimal it has very little effect anyway. and yeah i agree it requires a lot more nuance, far beyond what advanced doesalthough I have to add, why do you want to do e1? Is it about scaling, is it because you have a genuine passion and interest in english? Im not sure I would be picking e1 if the sole reason is for scaling, you really do have to like english to do 3 units (it is a lot of work on top of your other subjects, extra essays, extra memorisation which needs a lot of depth and nuanced understanding and insights)
honestly I feel like he probably was always not gonna take our advice bc he was too nervous about switchingTbh, I can't tell if this Guy is joking or not
Yeah, like as respectfully as possible, what he is doing is the dumbest thing u could do, like theres no pointhonestly I feel like he probably was always not gonna take our advice bc he was too nervous about switching
i think the rationale was that switching in the middle of y11 was a risky decision and a lot of teachers and stuff advised against it saying he is is screwing himself over for y12. also it is hard to trust strangers online as opposed to teachers who probably know what you are like and stuff. idk while id agree with his own assessment as it being a lapse in judgement i wouldn't call it dumb bc ik i would have been just as conflicted with the decision if a bunch of ppl irl said i wouldnt be able to cope and ive also missed months worth of y11 lessons in a relatively hard course and i want to do it for y12Yeah, like as respectfully as possible, what he is doing is the dumbest thing u could do, like theres no point
