a transuranic element produced in an accelerator
a transuranic element produced in a nuclear reactor

Neptunium and plutonium were the first transuranic elements to be synthesised. U-238 is bombarded with neutrons to produced by nuclear fission of U-235. Initially as isotope of uranium (U-239) forms which decays by beta emission to produce neptunium-239. Neptunium-239 decays by beta emission to produce Pu-239. Alpha particles have also been used to produce transuranic elements. Curium-242 was produced by alpha bombardment of plutonium. Another method; is to bombard target nuclei with the nuclei of other elements using particle accelerators. New elements form when the nuclei fuse together. The elements are highly unstable and rapidly decay. :)
Hope it helps

[mass number - element/symbol/subatomic particle - atomic number]

1) 269 - Darmstadtium - 110 (Ds) was discovered in 1994 at Darmstadt, Germany. Its discovery is summarised in the following equation - this occurred in a nuclear reactor:

208 Pb 82 + 62 Ni 28 --> 269 Ds 110 + 1 n 0

2) 272 - Roentgenium - 111 (Rg) was also discovered in 1994 at the same institution in Germany. Its nuclear equation is as follows:

209 Bi 83 + 64 Ni 28 --> 272 Rg 111 + 1 n 0

Hope that makes sense.
