Did anyone not go to their Year 12 formal? I seriously could be doing something more productive at the time- like earn a couple of $ and work experience.

Nah man it was a heaps good time. Plus the after party, the main reason anyone went to our formal.

All work and no play makes Jack a dull boy.

LOL if you can't sacrifice a couple hours of $$$ making for a good time, you gotsa ask yourself why you're tryna make the $$$ anyway

I didn't go to my formal and I had no regrets.

Nearly everyone will tell you to go to formal though because they all want to, and they can't understand that some people don't.

I seriously doubt you will be doing something productive on that day.

Nothing wrong with not going but it's a 1 time event in your life so you might as well go. You can always earn your $$$ and undertake part-time jobs at a later time (i.e. right after the formal) but you can't go to your own Year 12 formal later on.

You couldn't spare a few hours to have moments with people you spent 4 years together with?

Year 10 formal.

Played condition zero with bots. Played alongside the greats of nails, jackal, hawk (from t's) and tex, maverick, eagle, steel (from ct's) on the map cs_747.

No regrets.

Year 12 formal I actually went to the formal.

No regrets.

I can understand why someone would not want to go to their formal, but the reason of "I want to make money instead" is not a sufficient enough reason. Its more of a personal thing (I didn't go year 10 formal because there was no one to miss, and all the year 10 drop outs I didn't really want to see or anything any way). Year 10 formal would have been a waste of time for me, so I made the call to not go.

yr 10 formal - did not attend (no regrets)

yr 12 formal - a pretty good night (also; regrets).

As R0T said; you can always work later but you can't attend another year 12 formal later. Unless you're like already a barrister making $$$ x 1000 a night IMO it is worth going

My school is & was pain. Hadnt been in it for four years though. And the formals just from what you guys said to be a fancy event- that said, the formal would be more of a pain.

that's the reason I didn't go to my year 10 one but the year 12 one was worth it IMO

I found the formal overrated, I mean, it was good hanging out and having dinner with my mates but to be honest, it was no different from the 6 years I already spent with them. If you dont want to go, then dont bother.

I don't want to go either but for a completely different reason. There are about 40+ people in my grade not going so don't worry about it being the only one to have not gone. Just make sure you know you're not going to regret anything after seeing photos and all that of your grade having a blast, spam your newsfeed and be the topic of conversation for the next 2 weeks or so.
