im in a school ranked 5-10.
and coming first in a one subject, by about 2%. which isnt that much, should I help drag up the bottem (who I am ahead of by about 30%)? or can I just hide in a hole and study my balls off since im at the end of the bell curve.

^ This. Helping others attain a higher exam mark will benefit you immensely.

But If I was to get the highest external mark (not saying I will or anything, im not that arrogent) but if I did, then there would have been no point in helping people?

Well, the best way to learn material is to teach it to someone apparently. Factor that in.

Yes because not only does it benefit you to help others (i.e. better retention of what you've learnt) but also if you happen to perform badly in oct/nov you can rely on your internal mark
