Incorporating a Play into my short stories (1 Viewer)

Is this possible?

I'm writing multiple short stories for my major work and would I be allowed to make one of them, a play?

I think you'd have a problem in categorising the work, as when you submit it you have to say what medium- the playwriting conventions are considerably different to that of short stories. I guess you could do it if you did it really really well, but you'd have to back it up so much in your reflection statement and research to supplement why you included a play that it could potentailly become a problem.

That's just my thought anyway

Maybe instead of having it in play form like;

Character A: blahblah
Character B: blahblah

You could have it just like.. lines of dialogue one after another? Like;

Blahblah
Blahblah

So that it looks kinda.. idk like an unconventional postmodern text?
There was a collection of short stories in the showcase a few years back that had a mixture of poetry, letters, short story and prose-like writing. So I don't think there's a problem with mixing and mashing different types. I'm doing a collection of short stories too, and I'm thinking of adding bits of poetry in between, just to break up the monotony of the huge slabs of text.
