I am trying to say I dont like rock music bcoz u cant dance to it. I think i need the indirect object pronoun (sing fem) wat is it again...is it la?

Is this right

Non mi piace la musica rock perchè penso e troppo rumoroso e non si puo ballarla.

If you want to see it in context:

Non mi piace la musica rock perchè penso e troppo rumoroso e non si puo

ballarla. Ma mi piace altre tipi della musica per esempio la musica RnB. Amo

la musica RnB perchè ha un buon battito e si puo ballarla facililtá. Mio

cantante perferito è Anthony Callea. Lui è Italiano, molto basso e piccolo ma

bellissimo. Venerdi scorco dopo la scoula sono andata il concerto di Anthony

Callea. Era fantastico, lui canta splendidamente e lui ha avato a stupendo.

oiii. i got my notes out and everything

Indirect object pronouns answer the question who or what after verbs and correspond to, in english, to me, to him, to them etc.

The object pronouns and indirect object pronouns are placed before the verb so....
le compro
in english they come after the verb so....
yes i'll buy them

maybe...if it's
one can't dance to it
then...
non si può li ballare

do you think that makes sence? i hope that helped you?

 good question

As with direct object pronouns, indirect can go after the verb if the verb is in the infinitive. The above post is right because the verb is already conjugated (not in the infinitive).

With the post above, li would be used for masculine singular, so it depends what you are replacing. If you're replacing "to the music" then it's le - feminine singular.

I am confused because indirect object pronouns do get used when there is 'a,' but it doesn't sound right.
Firstly, the indirect object pronouns are used when it is "to a person" but not "to a thing." In that case 'ci' is used.

Still, I don't know if "non si puo' ballarci" makes sense, it might (and does) have the meaning of "one can't dance there" meaning it's talking about a certain place (for example, "non si puo' ballare alle feste"). I can't find in the dictionary how to say 'to dance to music'.

With your knowledge, if you want to use an indirect object pronoun, I'd just go for 'le' and let the teacher fix it.

some quick things:
melsc said:
perchè penso e troppo
penso che e' troppo
(if you have learnt the subjunctive remember it's supposed to be used there)

melsc said:
mi piace altre tipi
if 'altre' is feminine plural, and 'tipi' masculine plural then they don't agree at the moment

facililtá.

Venerdi scorco
is either a made up word or doesn't fit there. I think that's a noun and you need a verb or something like that.

typo, scorso

lui ha avato a stupendo.
you have to learn the things which go after the verbs - either 'a' 'per' 'di' or whatever
for andare, you say "andare a fare qualcosa"

lui era stupendo?
:)

you saw anthony? :D is his voice great in real life? it sounds great on tv

if you're using 'le' and the sentence above it's either

non mi piace questa musica, non le posso ballare

i'm almost sure it's the same to say
non mi piace questa musica, non posso ballarle.

either is good.

ya if it's beginners i don't think it would matter, but could you say
non mi piace la musica rock, perche' non mi fa ballare?
ie it doesnt 'make me/let me' dance

this might be a bit late, but it would probably be better to say
Non mi piace la musica rock perche' non e' ballabile e a me piace ballare.
U have to remember that there are a lot of things we say in english that cannot be translated to mean exactly the same thing
