Influencing factors on rate of corrosion (1 Viewer)

I'm doing an experiment testing the effect of salt concentration on water. My results are as follows:
1g of salt --> mass lost: 0.023
2g of salt --> mass lost: 0.018
3g of salt --> mass lost: 0.017
4g of salt --> mass lost: 0.017
5g of salt --> mass lost: 0.017
According to my results, the lower the salt concentration, the higher the rate of corrosion...but isn't this wrong?

I've been googling and found this: "The solubilityof oxygen in water decreases rapidly with increasing salt concentration". Now I'm a little confused!

Also, i have to explain the effect of various factors on the rate of corrosion (oxygen concentration, temperature, acid concentration and acidity). Does anyone know where i can find some answers?

i suppose increasing salt conc reduces o2 conc.

Since O2 is essential for corrosion to occur, this would probably explain why you are seeing less corrosion with high salt conc.
