If you're unfamiliar with reverse chain rule/substitution then use the table of standard integrals

Yeah, well I couldn't work it out... the answers must be wrong...
Generally No. Yes publishers do make mistakes but it would be more likely that you made a mistake.
My answers were sqrt(2) and -1/3 respectively

I put their answer in and it was the same as mine but mine was a negative answer...

What do you mean by "absolute value"? My solution was very straightforward and I didn't need to use absolute values and I don't see where one would find it necessary to
