Hi, I'm currently stressing out about my internal rankings at my school. Currently, my average results/rankings are;
- English adv: 89.6% (3/35)
- maths adv 83%(10/36)
- biology 73%(2/32)
- business studies 100%(1/56)
- community and family studies 91%(4/28)
- society and culture 92.5%(3/23)
school ranking: 200-300s

I just wanted to know for people who have done their HSC,
- what were your internal marks and rankings?
- what was your school ranking?
- and what ATAR did you end up getting?

I really wanna get a 90+ atar but not really sure if that's possible for me anymore considering my rankings aren't the best in a poorly ranked school so I wanted to see how everyone else went internally vs externally...

You can search your School on https://www.hscninja.com/honour/roll/year/2020, to see how many B6 your School gets for those subjects. Usually, 1-5 people in 200-300 schools would get a band 6 depending on the subject, so you would be in a good spot from just general headcannon.

Though, don't worry about ranks tbh until trials since there could be a massive low for people in lower-ranked schools.

I think you are stressing a bit too much. All I will say is that doing your best in all the things that you are already doing is sufficient for a 90+ ATAR for sure - just make sure that you are aware of how different your school assessments are different to the actual HSC because, in the end, you HSC will matter just as much as your internal ranks. Maintain the ranks and don't worry about your school rankings - i assure you it is an absolute waste of time and unnecessary stress (from experience)

My ATAR was 99.25 but there were ~12-15 people who got 90+ from our school... and our school rank is ~390 so I do not think there is anything to worry about, especially with your ranks. Your odds look good and just believe in wht you're doing. Goos luck and hope it helps. :)

The above information explains the situation perfectly.

I ranked lower than you when I did my HSC in English Standard (43/241), Mathematics Advanced (36/146) and Business Studies (17/107) at a school in the same rank range as yours and managed a 92 ATAR. If you receive your current ranks as your final ranks and perform well in the HSC exam, I believe we'd be looking at a 95+ ATAR instead of a 90+ ATAR, so you are definitely on track in terms of your 90+ goal! 💯

Sometimes I wish I never picked maths altogether and did Arabic instead - would've been able to reach a 95 ATAR.

I went from an ambitious 3U student who wanted to do 4U to a 2U student who highly dislikes maths. And the inconsistency... Averaged 70% in my internals (before moderation), yet I got an HD in first-year stats.

Oh well.

Was gonna pick EAL/D at the time but ended up doing Standard because of a clash. Either way I'm not sure if I was good enough for Advanced (In 2018 I had only been in Australia for 1 year).

Thanks! :D
