10mb optus cable. Telstra cable has a lot of problems. Optus is just annoying cos the plans go 400mb, 1gb, 12gb, 20gb. I want something between 1gb and 12gb.

i'm on the exetel $35/month plan (256/64) 6gig/month, free downloads at night

there are also shaped plan for around $29 where you get 200meg downloads then it goes to dial up speeds

you must rememer that you save on the local calls you pay to dial in.
That's still a pretty big price jump, thanks though, I'll have a good look at their plans. Thanks again. :D

what do you mean? *confused*

shaped speeds- after you have downloaded 20 Gb, they reduce/shape/throttle your speed to just above 56k modem speed. they will connect you at 64Kb/s.

hmmm.... dial-up does seem to be the minority.

and no one on wireless? i'd chose wireless over ADSL simply due to the convienience of
being able to access the net almost anywhere.
i think Unwired and iBurst are only slightly more expensive than ADSL

with exetel they charge you $3 for each extra gig downloaded.. is it possible to get it shaped instead?
