I don't use dial-up anymore and I don't think a lot of people still do since broadband and even ADSL is relatively cheap these days (not to mention how much faster they are compared to dial-up - unless if you reach your monthly quota).

Not since Late 2001.

x3.eddayyeeee: That would be Rudd's election promise. Howard did have a broadband plan, but he isn't exactly around anymore to implement it...

sorry if i got my facts mixed up.
but , im sure for john howard's last term as PM , he promised high speed internet.
I was just saying that he didnt carry through when he had the opportunity, instead he was following George Bush's orders around like a dog.

And that's why he got the highest American civil honour from him, the Medal of FREEDOM. Good boy Johnny, here's your reward (plus a pat on the back) lol.

Oh god no!

I like to multi task; i.e. Phone + surfing the net at the same time :guitar:

When will fibre optics come out? Oh man. You should try the internet in South Korea. It's so god damn fast! since they've got fibre optics i'm assuming :D

My mate has it. He's so hard to get in touch with, because someone is always online. And he never checks his mobile...

Yep :) still use it.... I live in a rural area and Telstra is too lazy or cheap to upgrade my exchange and satellite is way too expensive considering the download limits. I do a good 3.5GB/month on dial up so no satellite plan at a reasonable price will match that.

I think someone was wrong with the upload test though... and generally I can get 50 downloading (ohh... 50kbps... how exciting)

I finally made the transition (i.e. moved out of home) in August 2004.
Currently on 8/1Mbps ADSL2+
