Is electrolysis in the syllabus? (1 Viewer)

I know galvanic cells are but is the process of electrolysis included in the syllabus?

Okay cause i just saw a multiple choice about it in the core section.

which paper?

Well it was the online multiple choice so I am not sure exactly which paper it was.
But the question was something like
How has electrolysis contributed to the production of materials
1)Allowing us to do non-spontaneous reactions
2)It doesn't require energy
3)It allows us to separate hydrogen and oxygen from water

and I can't remember the fourth option. So is something like this in the syllabus core and I need to study more?

answer is 1, older conquering textbooks (like the ones at my school) have electrolysis after the galvanic cell section in them but newer ones do no longer, if you could work out what year that question is from it may be that it was removed at some point

I'm pretty sure that's Industrial Chemistry

well option is never in multiple choice so it's a very weird situation especially for those not doing industrial, 2 is wrong and for 3 hydrogen can be obtained from the petrochemical industry, and oxygen is distilled from air, both much less energy intensive than electrolysis, thus neither of these options is a "contribution"

I learnt about electrolysis in HSC.
