No. How it works: you have your list of preferences 1-9. If you get accepted into your first course (which is what you wanted) then you are removed from potential offers list of all other unis you put down. If however, the cut-off for your first preference course is above the atar you recieved and you don't get in then UAC or whoever looks at your next preference. Whatever you get offer for will be the course you firstly attained a sufficient atar for and is highest on your preference list. Get it?
