hahahahahaha. money can buy happiness.

Can Money Buy Happiness? - August 1, 2006
Did you read beyond the heading?

that article said:
Once you earn enough to cover your basic needs, being much richer doesn't make you much happier.
Your money is something you trade your life energy for. Every dollar earned is by trading away part of your life, your time and energy. Time is your most valuable and irreplaceable possession. Learn to value money, the amount of time and energy each unit represents, and be frugal.

Work is something we do so we can spend time doing what we love.

Small regular purchases, a coffee or a sandwich here and there, add up to years of wage slavery.

Save and invest, only spend on what adds meaning to your life. With every purchase, even the smallest thing, ask "does this add meaning to my life commensurate to the time and work I had to do to obtain it"?

If you can learn to only spend your money on things that add genuine value to your life, save and invest the rest, you can escape wage slavery much earlier than you'd expect and live the rest of your life doing what you love.

Love what it enables you to do, money itself is worthless. Especially fiat money.

Agreed, I like money because its able to gain me X lifestyle, but beyond that point I don't care for it.

I have friends with siblings who work at Big 6 law firms. Its pretty common for them to be asked to stay in till 5am, go home for a shower and be back in the office by 9.

That is just insane. The extra money it earns you isn't worth it.

Would rather work at boutique firm somewhere with reasonable hours so I can go yachting on weekends, rather than yachting once a blue moon.

Loving money isn't weird, because its so common these days.
When that love gets to the point that it rules over you, then yes, its unhealthy.

Loving money is all well and good, until it turns sexual. Then it's kinda weird.
If what makes you happy is actually acheivable, then money can buy it. Even if you use some pathetic farfetched example and money can't buy it, money can still buy you something else that will give you at least a degree of happiness.

Not unhealthy if you show some humility.
