No, the SC is nothing like the HSC... SC is made for everyone to easily pass (and hence, year 10 is a total bludge), HSC is made to discriminate between people (though still easy to pass imo, just requires a fair bit of study, compared to the 0 hours study SC needs)

Main difference: people study for the HSC. Most people, anyway.

I pride myself on the absolute lack of study done for the SC.
