I just got my first ranking and idk how this works I basically just need confirmation that it’s fine- I’m 50/80 and my overall mark is like 5 marks below the year average please reassure me

hi, it would depend on what your definition of fine is and what sort of marks you were aiming to get. are you looking to improve or are you satisfied and want assurance that your rank is fine?

depends on ur school, its not as bad if youre in a top 10 ranked school. also youre in year 10 it doesnt matter rn or in year 11 really

Actually it's good that you know your ranks in year 10 because now you can work towards your goals with more sureness. If it's not what you hoped, year 11 is a good time to get your study and exam skills together in time for year 12.

im gonna be 100% honest my y10 marks meant nothing when it came to my hsc so atm the advice i would give you is that whatever is it, as long as you don't have like 0 clue whats going on and you pay attention and try to do better you will be alright.

50/80 is not bad and def not unredeemable especially if you are not far off average so yes you are doing fine and yes you can do better as well

no it doesn't matter what school you go to that ranking is not ok you should probs improve but you got plenty of time
