Hey all. Just wondering, is it wise to spend a bit more time on subjects where I think I can get the best marks, then hopefully this will lift my sh*tty marks up a bit when it comes to ATAR?

I reckon I'm capable of 90+ raw mark in Legal Studies, and 90+ Economics (Eco maybe a bit of help with scaling), and English I could get 80+ raw if I work enough at it.

My other subjects are 2U Maths, Physics, French. They're all pretty sh*te subjects for me.

I'm hoping to get 92 to get into my first preference degree.

So is it a wise idea to focus study more on those 3 good subjects, and do especially well in them, and put a bit less time into those crap subjects (but not too much less)?

Cheers

You should put your effort into maximising marks across the board. If you get 100 in 3 subjects but 20 in another, you'll probably get a lower ATAR than if you get say... 65 in all of them.

If you're getting crappy marks, don't expect a 92 ATAR.
