Don't worry, i won't leave you :)
You doing civil too?
Cool. Also, congratulations on making your ATAR aim!

Nope, I put down UNSW Combined Law as my 1st preference (I received the AAA Scholarship, so hopefully I'll still get an offer even though I probably won't make the cut-off).

I actually wasn't expecting to get an ATAR this high, so I might have to rethink my options. But I'm definitely going to UNSW, regardless of my course choice. :)

You know how you said "hopefully", I was under the impression that AAA guarantees you entry into the course as long as your ATAR is within 5 points of cut-off. Since yours is 98.8 you should be guaranteed entry???? Am i wrong about this :cold:?

I'm pretty sure that's what I read in the letter.

Yeah, you're right. Auto entry into any course possible if you get ATAR = 94.95 aside from med :)

I think I typed "hopefully" as I'm used to being unsure about my HSC results/ATAR, and therefore I'm probably still unconsciously preparing myself for the worst outcome. I don't think I've been able to grasp that I'll be able to get into my first preference, haha.

Sorry for the confusion.

I keep doing that too and then I have to remind myself that it's all over. Weird to have closure after a whole year of relying on nothing but the dubious accuracy of UAI calculators :).

I'm on the reserve list. Hopefully some of the short-listed don't get it... I really need it

Congrats :) It's all falling into place for you.

I'm reserve for science, so I don't think yours affects me.

So I suppose all the 99.95ers applying to law at usyd got the call?
anyone else?

oh and btw I completely agree with your "balanced life" reply. I loved all my subjects and took the gamble of not doing ext 2 maths just because I couldn't face that much maths. I'm just not that into it haha.
And to second your very wise words - have fun. It's your last year of school. ENJOY IT
I just wrote that comment in a bit of a vitriolic rant mood about these people who claim not to work. Albeit I'm aware that some actually do not work and still do well. haha

Despite being 'guaranteed' i've read on other threads where people have not got in even with 98.xx or 97.xx whilst some people with 96.xx and 99.3 have gotten in with AAA scholarship. Varying accounts don't really shed the light on this guarantee :( .

USYD Website said:
End December First round offers sent to short listed applicants
Offers are also made for Outstanding Achievement Scholarships at this time.

Early - Mid January As soon as the IB (International Baccalaureate) results are available, offers will be sent to these students.
Offers will also be made to interstate students at this time.

Late January - Early February Faculties will make second and even third or fourth round offers during this period depending on how many students accept initial offers.
Don't give up too soon.

Ah ok, so I could still be offered a merit scholarship as late as January?
