how can you characterise an entire university of 40000+ people as 'conservative' or 'liberal'? are we talking about staff? student body? student media?

the easy answer to give is 'far left', as the campus is constantly littered with DEATH TO THE ZIONIST CAPITALISTS posters from the socialist alternative, but neither they nor the somewhat less insane SRC really represent the political views of the apathetic majority. probably the student body as a whole is left of centre, but that would be the case for any random group of young people, and I doubt it varies a whole lot from uni to uni.

OMG yes I find that really scary how violently opposed they are to Israel!! They approached me in O Week and then when I heard their extreme views on Israel I've been avoiding them ever since!
And people are like that in my GOVT tutes too! So this really put me off from politics in uni, and I have joined the apathetic majority.

Some lecturers such as Frank Stilwell are left wing but unlike SA, in a nice way

But 80% of the lecturers I've had are neutral..
