[JAMESRUSE] English/Economics/MHistory/Maths Tutoring Northern Suburbs

Hi there.

I'm Yash and I'm offering an unique private tuition experience to Year 11 and 12 students, as well as exceptionally gifted Year 10s (subject to availability). I can confidently assert that my tuition will boost your marks dramatically, and I have a track record of success that spans students of all ages, with all of my students receiving Band 6s in the HSC for the subjects I tutored them in. I am no stranger to tutoring, having clocked well in excess of 1500 hours tutoring, which gives me the perfect insight into the best methods of teaching my students to excel.

Subjects Offered

English (Standard/Advanced)
Mathematics (Up to Extension 2)
Economics
Modern History

Experience

I have tutored both individuals and groups since late 2010 after finishing my HSC, and I have accumulated well over 1500 hours of tutoring time. During my vacations I tutor up to 40 hours a week with multiple students, giving me an insight into extracting the best out of my students.
I have routinely offered a mix of weekly, holiday and intensive revision classes. and these summer holidays I'm offering intensive HSC Summer Bootcamp classes. This unique mix of classes means that YOU can structure YOUR education to suit your needs.
I am a very dedicated and thorough tutor, and I am acutely aware of the needs of students. Having taught multiple students (in excess of 60 different students), I am confident that I have taught one of the broadest varieties of students, most of whom achieved outstanding success, with many students routinely asking me for more lessons every week. I have even taught a student for 20 hours a week!.
I constantly consider the feedback of my students, and take this on board, while providing some of the most thorough, comprehensive and engaging tutoring on the market. My aim is to constantly improve my tutoring and teaching, so you always walk out with a smile on your face.
I have often been told by students that when I am tutoring, I am not just a tutor, but a friend, a mentor and a role model. I honestly believe that success is not just a matter of knowledge, but the drive and focus to achieve truly spectacular results. My tutoring cultivates this culture of outstanding success.

Credentials

In addition to my excellent tutoring experience, I have achieved:

HSC Results:

English Advanced - 94
3U Maths - 96
4U Maths - 95
Economics - 93
Modern History - 92

ATAR: 99.55

University:

Australian School of Business Dean's List
UNSW All Rounder's Scholarship
UNSW Malcolm Chaikin Scholarship Finalist

Weighted Average Mark: 86 (High Distinction)

Marks alone do not make a great tutor. The unique edge that sets me apart is:

A genuine passion and love for what I'm doing. I have guided many, many students through the HSC, and I know exactly what you guys are going through. My job is to make your HSC Year as smooth and painless as possible, and I am prepared to assist you every step of the way.

I also bring vast knowledge regarding the HSC scaling process, the ATAR Calculation process, and what is needed to achieve the marks you want.

I am fully versed with the marking criteria and markers expectations in the HSC, and I provide this insight in every lesson, to help my students achieve the most they can.

I have calculated predicted ATARs for students that were frighteningly accurate, with most students achieving around the ATAR I predicted for them.

What I'm Offering

In addition to Structured Weekly Lessons that focus on YOU, my students, where I teach you everything you could possibly need for the HSC, I also offer:

An ability to cover topics far far quicker than in school, and with better clarity, understanding and results. I have been known to cover a whole subtopic within a single lesson, and my students reported that they learnt more with me in just one hour than in a whole week at school.

Unlimited Online and Phone Support
An unmatched resource library that spans notes, teaching material and revision work.
Extensive Examples of Past Students Work (English/Economics) to show you how you can achieve the best.
Virtually every past paper you may ever need.
Scholarship Application Help and Advice
Comprehensive Essay Marking
Guidance regarding UAC applications and subject choices for University
Mentorship, Friendship and Support from someone who has achieved at the highest level, and someone that continues to achieve well in University
A drive to give my students the best experience and aid possible.

Intensive Summer Bootcamps

These are 6 hour long intensive bootcamp classes for groups of up to 5 students. Each class covers up to a whole term's worth of work, and includes free lunch, unlimited drinks, snacks and included Recess and Lunch Breaks. These breaks are in addition to the 6 hours of classes, bringing each class to a total of 7 hours.

My Summer Bootcamp classes are $100 each. This works out to an incredibly low $16.67/teaching hour, with an additional 1 hour of breaks structured throughout the day. Food and Drink is inclusive in the price. I am also offering package deals to students that sign up for more than 1 class.

My bootcamps are aimed at the best and brightest, perfectionists who have the potential to achieve ATARs above 98. By the end of the Summer Holidays, those that attended my Intensive Bootcamp Classes will have virtually finished that HSC subject (excluding Mathematics Extension 1 and 2, all due care is taken to complete them however these courses are incredibly long and demanding. A significant portion of these courses would still have been covered, putting you well ahead of the pack going into term 1.).

My bootcamp classes are of the quality of professional lectures, with exclusive prepared handouts, cheat sheets, notes and sample revision questions. While my regular classes are of a premium quality, these intensive courses are by and large a step above them.

Just to reiterate, free food and unlimited drink is provided to all students that attend these classes, as a reward for their hard efforts.

Please note that these are not tutoring college classes. I have a strictly limited class size of 5, to allow for personal attention and help for each and every student in the class. I am not in the business of churning out students who have simply paid money to replicate their school experience. I provide an intimate environment that is designed to nurture and develop each of my individual students, and I take great pride in ensuring that I focus on every student equally.

These classes are strictly limited and are on a first come, first serve basis only. Places are very strictly limited, and once they are booked out, they are gone. Priority will be given to those students who are regulars of mine. If you wish to achieve a very high ATAR, these are the classes for you. I will be offering discounts to students who sign up to more than one subject. Due to the demanding yet intensely rewarding nature of my bootcamps, I will screen each candidate for these classes to ensure they are the right fit for the class. Otherwise I may suggest that weekly lessons throughout summer would be more appropriate to provide you with the right level of support.

Places are already filling up, so reserve your spot before its gone.

Where do I sign up?

Tutoring for HSC 2013 and new Year 11 intake for HSC 2014 will commence on the 15th of November.

Most of my classes are 1.5 hours long, unless a longer time is requested. This is because I have found that this time strikes the ideal balance between student concentration and coverage of the course. My Mathematics Extension 2 lessons are 2 hours long, from experience, this extra time tends to work better due to the incredibly high course content.

My rates are available on request, please contact me on the details below.

I offer Weekly group classes for up to 3 students, I have found that more students become difficult to provide support for in the short time we have together. However I am flexible, and if you have a group of 4 and are willing to have a longer lesson, this can be arranged.

You may contact me at either duckcowhybrid@hotmail.com or ykum0907@gmail.com. To ensure you reach me, email both of these accounts.

Every potential student undergoes a short phone/email interview, these are not to intimidate you, they are merely for me to get a better understanding of you as a person, your aspirations, goals and what you'd like out of my tutoring. They help me individualise my classes to your needs.

I tutor at my residence, with a specialised classroom area. I live in Westleigh (2120), which is located roughly 3km from Pennant Hills (a 5 minute drive). I am a short 15 minute walk from Thornleigh Station (25 from Pennant Hills), and a 20 minute bus ride from Hornsby Station. There are also buses from Pennant Hills in the afternoon (10 minute ride). For those that live in Cherrybrook or the Hills Area, the M60 stop is a 15 minute walk from my place.

Unfortunately I do not travel, so please do not request this to avoid disappointment. If travel is an issue, I may be able to arrange something, or refer you onto another tutor. I tutor at my residence as this is where I have access to the unlimited resources my students dearly covet, and I provide a quiet and safe environment that is ideal for learning.

Contact:

ykum0907@gmail.com

Email me if you wish to request my phone number.

I am now offering a 50% rebate on your first two lessons for a limited time only. This deal applies even if you've already emailed me regarding tutoring.

Don't hesitate to contact me with any questions, enquiries or other queries. And don't be shy, I'm more than happy to help, and I'm very very good.

Hi,

I'm duckcowhybrid, and I'm offering tutoring in English (Standard/Advanced), Economics, Modern History and Maths (up to 3U, considering 4U at this stage). I just graduated this year from James Ruse Agricultural High School, and I'm available to most students in the North Shore/Hills District area if they would like a tutor in any of those subjects.

My credentials:

I don't have any results yet, but I can give you my trial report marks

English Advanced - 92
3U Maths - 93
4U Maths - 94
Economics - 97
Modern History - 96

I was 1st and 2nd in Modern History and Economics respectively in the trials, and I am expecting an ATAR >98, and possibly >99.

Prices are negotiable, but will be around $30/hour for 1, and $25/hour for groups of 2-3. I offer the first lesson free, so if you're unhappy, you can simply walk away.

I will be tutoring at Hornsby and Pennant Hills Libraries, or at another location or your/my house depending on what is convenient for you.

If you wish to contact me, send me a PM or email me at duckcowhybrid@hotmail.com

Yash is rather cool imo. He is one of the very, very few who bears 'iSplicer's seal of approval'. Many a man, woman and beast have perished trying to obtain that status.

Get in there for a trial lesson. Remember, don't look him too long in the eye or you're likely to be hypnotised by his drop-dead good looks.

As HSC 2012 draws to an end, so begins the journey of HSC 2013 (and 2014!) students. For the first time ever, I'm offering:

Intensive Summer Bootcamps

These are 6 hour long intensive bootcamp classes for groups of up to 5 students. Each class covers up to a whole term's worth of work, and includes free lunch, unlimited drinks, snacks and included Recess and Lunch Breaks.
More details are in my original post.

In addition, I'm opening up class slots from the 12th of November for new students, so book now to ensure you get a spot with me for 2013. I won't have free spots for long.

I realise I have made some large claims in this thread. To allay your fears, I am posting some samples of my English marking as well as the Syllabus I use to teach for Mathematics. I will post up Economics Bootcamp Lecture Notes sample as well in due course, as proof of my credibility in these fields.

Hopefully that should satisfy the masses.

Holiday Bootcamp Classes went fantastically well, thanks to all who came.

For those that missed out, I'm running a second session for English, Economics and 2U/3U Maths, starting from 21 January 2013.

Get a headstart in these subjects heading into the new term, all Bootcamp classes are $100 each and run for 7 hours including breaks (6 hours of actual tutoring).

I also have 2 spots left on Saturdays for regular classes for those interested.

To anyone who is considering private tutoring, Yash is a wonderful tutor and i have been with him for nearly two years. Whilst i was unsure about how I would do at Economics in Year 11, Yash helped me sustain a ranking within the top 10 places for two consecutive semesters at North Sydney Boys High School and most likely the first semester of my HSC year. I would highly recommend him to anyone who is looking for private tutoring as there is no tutor student relationship but more of a friend to friend relationship and thus a more personable learning environment is created . Furthermore, Yash is a patient teacher who teaches at a variety of paces tailored to the students needs and thus helps the student have a better grasp of the subject. His resources are priceless and his rates are dirt cheap and i would highly recommend him.
