i dont know much about it but im considering doing this degree in the future...apparently, job opportunities are limited in specific biomedical jobs, but because it is a kinda specialisation from mechanical engineering, u can still be a mechanical engineer....so in a sense u have nothing to lose cause both ways u win :)......ive also heard that a lot of them are involved in research...so theres probs a fair bit of jobs there and also in product development and design (like articifial limbs etc....but dont get the wrong idea..its not all about that kind of stuff.....its a lot to do with machines that moniter health in hospitals. and tissue engineering etc...i think in the UAC guide it said a lot work in hospitals too...

ahk thanks. Well i'm tossing up as to whether i should do a bachelor mechanical engineering/masters of biomedical engineering @ unsw OR a bachelor of biomedical engineering @ usyd...
Since @ unsw you still do the double degree, you could still work as a mechanical engineer, but what about the biomedical one @ sydney...same thing applies?
