Does joining societies and sports team look good on your resume once you have graduated? What I'm asking is, is it beneficial to join these societies and sports teams not only to have fun but in terms of my resume?

Nah you can join whenever.

Don't join unless you actually like what the society does and can see yourself getting involved. I suppose it'd look good on your resume to play sport, but it's hardly that important. You wouldn't miss out on a job if it wasn't there, lets put it that way.

It's good if you have nothing else to put on your resume, but I don't think it matters as much as some people like to imagine it does. Employers seem to be mostly interested in how smart you are, how much actual work experience you have and how well you present yourself in the interview.
