NS is a tiny oval but his innings was amazing!! Cant take that away from him. If only victoria had scored more runs he coulda gotten 200! BTW whats the highest score for a domestic player in the one day comp? I remember jimmy maher scoring about 180 when QLD scored 400 against WA
Yea I rekon. The deck was really moist early on, so offered nothing for the batsman - especially Finch (imagine if he got going!!). Hodgey and Quiney came home very strong though. What about that shot by Quiney off Starc down the legside!!

Yea Smith produced the highest score for NSW in ListA today - beat Phil Jaques' record of 171.

Yea you're right...Maher tonked like 180 odd when he was playing. I think Smith fell 8 short in the end.

Good stuff from the Blues though..about time they won this season aye!

Jimmy Maher has it with 187, Dan Smith was so close.

I watched the innings though and it was good even if NS Oval is tiny.

steve smith is a gronk
i reckon he had potential as a legspinner but he threw it away by trying to become an all-rounder which isnt working out too well

Smith isnt a batter or a bowler yet, dam good fielder though, i think rightfully he lost both his test and one day spots as he needs to improve both aspects of his game before he is at international standards

I think it was more or less just for some international experience, personally i believe he has the potential to become a very good all-rounder seeing as he can bowl around 140km/hr and during the u19's world cup came in at first drop. At this stage though there is no spot in the team for him

All the Aussie matches I believe, so we may miss out on a few ODIs (unless they screen them too).

Interesting, certainly a suitable, anchoring partner for the more explosive Warner

Which leads me to say Warner is in good form atm

yeah he's got like 3 hundreds this season already and katitch is doing pretty average and has batting at number 4 for nsw

nah they should get Ed Cowan instead
yeah this. if katich were reinstated there would be too much pressure on him to repay the selectors faith, and he wouldnt be able to play freely. much better to use a debutant.

Katich shouldn't be picked because of his statements about Clarke. Completel unprofessional of him, having him in the side would prove a major distraction and the side don't need that when there about to take on arguably the strongest batting side ever to tour Australia.
