Well, this is probably going to make me sound lezzish, but I still really like "Une femme avec une femme" by Mecano - it's a balladish sort of a song.

Meh. If the melody is good who cares what the lyrics are on about...

At the moment I'm really getting into the french version of "Total Eclipse of the Heart"- it's a duet version with some verses sung in english by Bonnie Tyler and the rest in french by Karen someone...

Actually, I think it sounds better in english than it does in french. Only becuase it sounds like they're trying to fit too many words into the first verse- doesn't flow well. Meh. I'm thinking too much.

I'm enjoying "Champs Elysee" by Joe Dassin - it's got a big band kind of feel to it. :D

LOL! My dad was playing his LP's of Joe Dassin to me the other day. How bizarre...

At the moment I'm into Fade to Grey- Visage. Kinda electro-euro-pop, 80's one hit wonder of course, but with some french lyrics to it. Quite the funky one.

New French Music Programme on Radio

B'jour tlm.

I come to discover a new French music programme. Sadly, it's a Sydney, Eastern Suburbs-based station and not even all of Sydney is guaranteed to have reception, but I get it on and off.

It is on 89.7FM, Eastside Radio, and every Saturday night, from 9pm to midnight there is a programme on showcasing all French music, from Edith Piaf, Charles Trenet and Claude François to groups of our day.

I haven't heard it yet, but seems to be rather promising.

Cliquez ici pour en savoir plus.

Yeah it was alright. I caught it after the SBS one. They had lots of different stuff, a lot of it sounded like as if it would be up your alley, Hip :). A lot of 80s ish kind of stuff and vintage stuff, I think they played some modern stuff too though (to be quite honest I wasn't paying that much attention - sort of sleeping too lol).

Les trois cloches! Ooh, qu'elle est belle. La chanson est feminine, donc unE chanson, et the adjective 'old' in these cases goes before noun, la vieille chanson.

Tu as 飯ut*a version de Tina Arena quand elle 鴡it en France? Did Edith Piaf do the original? Or someone like La Compagnie something orother? Memory dies after 10pm...

Elle chante acoustique et tout 硬 mais she sounds like she's always running out of air....

Sick.. a lot of english-speaking bands seem to be singing songs in French now, from what I here on Triple J. Didn't know the Whitlams did a song of there's in French. Then there's that Placebo one (though half/half) "Prot觥-moi". Then at least 2 or 3 that I can't remember names of. Weird!
