i'm disappointed you guys didn't enjoy candy - thought there was a certain pretention, but the brilliant performances made the trip worthwhile. the voiceover/underwater scenes were poor, and writing-on-the-walls scene was overdone, but apart from that, thought it was really solid.

i didn't hate it
i thought the performances were quite good
just seems like an unnecessary film to make - it didn't offer much new to a 'smacky' film. my biggest gripe is how obvious it was

candy was awful, but abbie is so fucking unbelievably perfect.

i'd see it again just for her. and wade through neck-deep pretension and faux intellectual filmmaking.

i'm a movie junkie, in the morning i watched "not without my daughter" i found book better or not as harsh as film.
this week i also watched intolerable cruelty, wild things 2, femme fatale, and clueless.

summer of sam - 7/10 - spike lee does his social commentary thing. the worst of his movies that i've seen, but his movies are pretty damn good, so that's not really an insult

Really? I have big expectations.

Watched The Adventures of Sharkboy and Lavagirl today. Redefined terrible. I have a feeling I wasn't the target audience, though.
