Casino Royale.

I loved it! The music and the opening credits were great! Also, the new bond is way better than brosnan. pierce sucked really..
it was also a very different bond movie. far less about doing impossible things in impossible plots - which made it away better.

The Holiday- 6/10. It had its moments, but lacked substance. The acting was pretty average: Cameron Diaz, as she so often does, relied on her bubbly persona too much. As for Jack Black, he falls back on his eccentricity, and proved that when called upon to play a normal, quiet person, he fails. The only actor who i think ought to be commended is Kate Winset, who really does bring a lot of warmth and believability to her charactor.

The plot suffers from dreary predictabilty, and The Holiday manages to touch upon every romantic cliche' there is. Finally it would have benefited from being condensed a bit; clocking in at nearly two and a half hours, it's ridiculously long for a Romantic Comedy. The endling was so stident and overextended, that by the end I was nearly asleep.

Saw match point, thought it was good. Saw American psycho, thought it was also pretty good. In fact, the only thing i don't agree with is that v for vendtta was pure shit. I thought it was great! :)

the last dirty harry film is surprisingly not the worst (the 4th - 'sudden impact' is far lamer).
it doesn't pre-occupy itself with the political implications of the first few films of the series. it's taken as a given that harry takes down any criminal in sight. the focus instead is on a hilariously silly plot about a killer bent on framing a schlock horror film director (an early liam neeson) by killing a group of celebrities associated with a current production.
highlights include a younger jim (credited as james) carrey as a rock star smackie and an early shoot out with dirty harry in a chinese restaurant: 'You forgot your fortune cookie... it says you're shit out of luck'

2.5/5

I've been anticipating this for ages and it didn't disappoint. 'Rowdy' Roddy Piper shooting those right wing aliens with magic glasses and all. 'Mama don't like tattletales'

4.5/5

'black cat, white cat' -emir kustarico
10/10

this movie seriously exudes energy; one of the funniest, zaniest, and downright joyful things i've ever seen. so many amazing scenes, including a singer using her buttcheeks to take a nail out of a piece of wood, a guy literally swimming in his own shit,
old people coming back to life
and so many more memorably scenes. i can't recommend this film enough, there are very few moments where i didn't smile while watching this

i tried watching this one day, but i wasn't in a mood for zaniness, so it rubbed me in the wrong way and i turned it off 30 minutes in. still, i will give it another go.

have you seen kusturica's underground? i liked that one very much.
