lol. I have read that...a few times. And I dont recal any significant mention of Howard. It's ironic that you really have to be a stupid white man to get the most out of that book...for all the reasons i cant be bothered rehashing.
btw, I think Moore is on 60minutes tonight, saying something to the effect of "what is john howard doing in bed with an idiot"...although i think he's hilariously funny, I hate these arrogant size-ups he does of other countries.
The only way i'd vote Labour is if Keating...or possible Beazly were back.

Well then I guess that we are lucky that Mark Latham leads the Australian Labor Party.

hmmmmphhh

as much as i dont like howard, who is a little sheep with big eyebrows :)
Mark latham has no credibilty- hes all taslk and no action. howard has at least helped us with our economy, and as long as its going strong, i dont see why the majority oif australisna would decide to jump boats to labor. ross gittons proved how leaders are only kicked out of power (this is australia and usa) when the economy slumps- e.g. gough whitlam after the opec oil crisis, paul keating with the asian crisis etc....
voters couldnt care less about actual politics and policies, or about human rights and ethics- they just want money. as the saying goes 'ignborance is bliss'

that is why, for the first time in my life that i can actually vote, i will be stuck on who to vote for. i used to want to vote socialists, but i dont think thats a plausible solution for australia. i dunno
we had this political forum at pur school and politicians like andrew wilike, umm that guy for davidson who thinks hes hotstuff- i forget his name ... hes minister for education now?!?!?!? someone from labor, democrats and nationals and the persobn from the communbsist never came. anyways that was pretty good, but im still screwed\
goodluck voting people

yep, in response to the other thread, and recent election of latham as the opposition leader i'm am presenting this poll....btw, i choose latham (coz i'm a labour supporter) but then again, i also think that he has more chances of winning the next elections compared to crean or beazely.
i'd vote latham just coz he seems 2 hav more of a personality. his been on triple m and rove and a few other tv shows. i know thats not really a great reason to vote for someone but im not to bothered who i vote 4 newayz... so i'll end up voting 4 whoeva seems like the best bloke... which @ this stage isnt howard. both of them go 4 dragons tho so i'll be happy either way :)

I would probably vote for Howard - i cant vote atm too young (which may be a good thing)
but considering that under the Howard Government we have seen the Australian Economy undergo a large period of expansion and by the looks of how the government has managed the economy i dont think it is time for there to be a shake up of who runs the country

Dont say that i am pro-liberal because i am raised both ways - father=labour mother=liberal
so my thought really concern Australia as a whole.

Maybe at the next election (after this one) who knows? Latham - who i do think is a champ
will be more experianced on a Federal Level and would run a better administration that he would if he was elected right now

Latham. We need some kind of change before we become America's honorary 51st state.

Howard. No way in hell would i vote for a foul-mouthed, uneducated fool such as Latham. What an embarrassment to the country! How could anyone possibly vote for someone who uses language such as "arse-licker" and calls a journalist a "skanky ho"? Someone who leaves LIverpool council millions in debt, and even "king-hits" a man who is by far his senior??? (as in, much older for all you Lathams out there) I shudder to think what will become of us all if Latham becomes prime minister. God Help Us.

i have to say, it's really a lesser of two evils. but there's no doubt in my mind that howard is the greater evil. it's unbelievable how much he gets away with, how much he lies, misleads, and misrepresents information, and then just changes tack as he sees fit. latham is far from perfect, but at least he's a bit more honest.

Ah, look at the funny side of it. He identifies with the majority of Australian's who call people suck ups, "Arse lickers", use words like "skanky ho" reguarly, and are not against "king hitting" people, though not old people.

Well, I see the humour anyway, that's all that matters

The funny side of it? Yeah real funny - how professional. And Australians aren't against king-hitting people? Do you even know what the definition of a king-hit is? Its when you punch someone in the face when they aren't looking - a most un-australian thing to do. In fact, only slimy dogs would do something like that. Only cowards do things like that. Only cowards and slimy dogs call journalists skanky hoes. King-hitting someone isn't a "blokey" or admirable thing to do, its something everyone should be ashamed of - its gutless.

um...Lissa. Latham was kind of educated at an insignificant educational institution called...Sydney University.

Latham is going to reverse the Government's 25% increase in HECS. He doesnt want the next generation (us!) starting out as a debt generation in life, and he doesnt want to make it harder for us to get into home ownership. So he will be reversing the 25% HECS increase AND abolishing the full-fee places. He wants affordable higher education, not $100,000 uni degrees. He also has plans for a 20 000 extra university places and extra resources for univerisities..
His belief is that if kids work hard at school, and they get the results, they can go on to their best chance in life, without being scared away by financial reasons...

AND that my friends, is why i'm voting for Latham!!!

deciding on a fav PM is not as easy as u'd think.

Latham would have my vote cause he's promised to reduce HECS, but his ability to manage the economy is a lil iffy. The current goverenment have been effective in keeping interest rates low n low unemployment. It looks as if labor are going to reregulate the workforce - n i think thats going to be bad for the economy... - so yeah - deciding is not so simple

then again, howard is a lying prick, n his policies are so american n heartless that any alternative is a good alternative.

so vote labor!
