ive been wanting to borrow "understanding movies" by Giannetti from Fisher library. the catalogue says "check shelf" yet I cant find it on shelf at all, not even at the short loans. this is happened with a number of other books i've been looking for. ive also checked the sorting shelves. has anyone else encountered this? also, the call number is 791.43 171 D so does the 'D' change anything? thanks

hahahaha. it seems ive confused 'reserve' with 'research' >< it says i can borrow it for 2 hours or overnight? how does that work...

also. im still not convinced, because i couldnt even find that book in the short loan section, though its meant to be there. does the D have anything to do with it?

A/B/C/D/etc denote different editions of the same work. They're all shelved together.

You can borrow a book overnight within two hours of the library closing however you must bring it back within the first hour of opening the next day or be fined per hour overdue. No D is edition or series they have at the uni also 171 is the collection/book number within the collection of 791.43 on the shelf
http://opac.library.usyd.edu.au/sea...71/-3,-1,0,B/frameset&FF=c791.43+++171+d&1,1,

Their are two 11th edition ones within in Fisher Short Loan(level 4) which can be borrowed for one week, go to the information desk if you need help.

Also i suggest you sign up for a library tour: http://www.library.usyd.edu.au/libraries/fisher/skills.html LOL
