Curious as to whether once a data source has been specified in the Word package (eg: data.app), if the source file itself is changed or modified in the future, will the Word Document recognise this change when referencing the data, or are the original contents cached and called elsewhere?

Overwhelmed with responses here :p, but nevermind .. after my mail merge self-tutoring today Ive discovered that Yes, when the data source is modified, it is reflected in the Word document (or destination), as the data source is retreived every time it is called/used by a program

Yes this is true.

But you need to ensure that the merged link still exists and you havent completed the merge into a document. Im not too sure as it has been a while since I have done any 'office admin' type of work but im sure once you have completed the merge completely and saved the output of the merge as a document, you will not be able to see the new data from your data source in this document. However in the document which has the merge information, the data should be updated.

Hope that helped and made some sort of sence to you.

Cheers,

Bryce
