No, you would have 3 elective cps left (not enough for another major). Probably use it to complete a People or Planet unit.

Hey, the course I am going to be studying in 2011 offers 27 'elective credit points', subjects such as
English (http://www.courses.mq.edu.au/2012/Undergraduate/Major/English/EGL01#WhatYouWillStudy)
and Modern history (http://www.courses.mq.edu.au/2012/Undergraduate/Major/Modern+History/MHS01#WhatYouWillStudy)
require 24 credit points to satisfy the major. Does this mean that I would be able to use my elective points to fulfil another major?

Thanks.
This makes sense to me, but I don't do a degree that has majors (well, the major is actually the degree name itself) so I'm not 100% sure how it works. (I think the above poster is confused, so I wouldn't take his word for it either)

Most degrees will only have one qualifiable major unfortunately, unless things have changed.

Which degree program are you studying?

Double majors should be possible, but it may take you longer to complete the degree - when you enrol in your units in the beginning, they will give you academic advice and help you to plan out your study program. For example, in the Bachelor of Commerce, they encourage students to do a double major.
