I don't think this can apply to guys.
Sif I'm making my own suit, HAHA.

Wouldn't it be easier to buy a mainstream dress and alter it in such a way to represent your individuality?

The idea of making a dress to make is like.... aaaaahhh..
Back in Year 7/8/9/10 when D&T was compulsary, I never finished any of my works. HAHA.

Broke the sewing machine needle so many times, ROFL.

Yeah it can. Males need to have it properly fitted to avoid looking like a douchebag (or to just look better than everyone else) - it's hard to find a suit with the exact shoulder/waist/midsection measurements.

lol yeah, a suit would be more of a challenge.
i dont know, i think for me starting from scratch is just easier than altering to suit me.
and i'm just dying to sew something other than major work on my new sewing machine =D
and it would also mean i could add it to my portfolio, which is good cuz i dont want to have to make dresses for no apparent occasion. especially formal dresses, good fabric can cost a lot..

Ther is a word for people like you: "crazy"
Have you any idea of the crappy quality of the fabric used for evening wear in retail nowadays?

She ought to be commended for having the skill and foresight to make her own!

lol, i don't think douchebags was a good word to have used. Well, i think that's a bit harsh as it could be because they're not as financially well off as others are to get a fitted suit for $AAA(A).

anyways, this looks interesting.
Interested in seeing the completed dress though.

yeah i get where your coming from, but i'm more refering to the ones that just get any suit, dont really bother trying anything on, or think its cool having a suit thats too big.

I regret spending the amount of money I did on my formal dress let alone going to the effort to make one.

making clothes is kinda my thing.

I'm in yr 12 this year and I've decided to make my own formal dress. I'm just sick of all the plain old ones that everyone wears.

Does anyone think I'm mad like some of my friends do? Is anyone else doing this? and has anyone done this and how successful was it?
Cool, you should do it if your're good
i know i girl in my school who made hers for the yr 10 formal
