studying ext 2 helps so much with ext 1 so def do ext 2

depends on what u are good at it tbh. i would only recommend doing advanced math if u did accelerated and got like a mid band 6. also if u r good at humanities then maybe not. just stick to ur strengths although ext 2 does have cracked scaling

why is it so conflicting some people are convinced this was 2024 difficulty some people think it’s the hardest ever

Every year people always say it was the hardest exam to date. Then when the dust settles and future cohorts look back on it, they have a much better say. The truth is that every cohort, is trained based on the previous exam papers - they study the past questions, and often internal assessments are designed to imitate questions from the past (even if its unintentional).

As someone who sat HSC in 2023 (and thus have a slightly different experience), I feel like 2025 was not easy but not too challenging. The weird thing though is it felt much more in line with the style of many past trial papers than HSCs - there were lots of small "tricks" in some of the questions, there were a few lengthy "programmatic" questions (questions which you know instantly how to do but then it takes you a good few minutes to actually write it out) and ultimately the exam would favour people who are precise, efficient and have done lots of practice, over people who have a much stronger understanding of the content but perhaps haven't practiced as much and are more susceptible to making mistakes.

It'll be interesting to see how it scales. I think on par with 2021 makes sense, if not just slightly harder. But personally for me, I do not think that I would have fared well if this was my exam. That doesn't mean I can't recognise it isn't objectively a decent exam, but it just would not have played to my strengths

Yeah I agree with you in the fact that it was more similar to trials than past HSC exams. I feel people who prepared more with trials than relying on HSC past papers would of done alot better

I think I’m more qualified than anyone else to rank the difficulty of the exams as I’ve sat all 5 of them under proper exam conditions. Yeah I would agree with @Allan Mekisic for Mc, 15,16 in general. But surely 11-14 was on par if not harder than 2022 and 2023s 11-14

Mcqs are on the harder side compared to most past HSCs. Q14 was a challenging one this year, q15 was really easy suprisingly after finishing q14, if you knew the stuff, and q16a,c is on the harder side again. Q16b was an outlier. Do yall agree?

I stressed out thinking of all the ways I can approach the shm question to the point where I couldnt do it at all

the solutions used something that wasn't on the formula sheet. I don't get why NESA with all the fucking empty space at the back of the formula sheet, they leave out formulas that we would actually likely forget

Memory tests allow NESA to think less (make it easier) when making hsc exams.
