I spoke to a friend and they said that if I were to do Advanced Science, all the maths units I would be required to take are of a 4 unit standard. I only did 3 unit Maths, so would it be better if I did a bridging course or would it be possible to learn everything during the course itself? Thanks!

Depends what level of maths you do. The maths in uni extends to Ext2 level and beyond, but normal level courses (as opposed to advanced level) often assume students have done HSC Maths up to Ext1 only, which implies you will be brought up to scratch on the foundational concepts anyway. Also, I don't think a Maths Ext2 bridging course even exists.
