Dude! If you don't read the posts properly, how can you offer a proper opinion?

With MedSci, I have found that you can werk in many different fields. It's not like it's a specialist degree where at the end of it you are a brain surgeon, a rocket scientist or a shit analyser etc.

I have found (UTS) MedSci to be very broad with many optional career paths eg. Work in a lab, hospital, research, sales etc. Other Universities* such as USyd (as well as UTS), offer Majors in specialist areas such as Microbiology, Molecular Biology and Pathology etc, allowing one to persue their own interests. USyd however, is much more lenient with their subjects. That is, USyd allows students to study subjects such as Computer Programming, mathematics and languages (I think). UTS has set subjects from which you can chose from (Science based only, unless your Advisor recommends/permits otherwise).

Which Uni you'd prefer to do your degree at is totally up to you and what you want from your degree. I personally prefer UTS because it's much more science focused.

For those of you who are thinking of Postgrad. Med - my advice to you is to do a degree that is suited for you (and one that you will excel in) and then apply for Medicine. It makes no difference if you do a Law degree, an Arts degree or even a shit kicking degree because you will not be at an disadvantage :) . As long as you achieve the recommended GPA of 5.5 and above and pass the GAMSAT, you will be considered for entry into Medicine. And YES! - in the past, Arts students have turned out to be the best doctors

* Sorry - don't know about UNSW MedSci.

What do you mean? Are you from another faculty (other than science)?

Learning is learning.. you can learn anything you want if you put your mind to it..
