I was enrolling for my units for 2021 Medical Science Year 1.

A) I wanted to get a preview and an insight (ig) on the majors. I'm personally leaning towards Anatomy and Physiology.


B) Help on the whole study planner thing. Like Should I just pick the 'Day' option or the 'infrequent' option. And how much units do I have to put per semester or liek the recommended amount of units to do per semester.



Oh and do I just enrol in (/check the box of) every unit thats highlighted blue?

To answer A I would say to have a look at the handbooks and the information they provide on their website. Also some students post their perspectives on here about the differing majors so I would say to have a look. Anatomy and Physiology is the ideal if you want to progress to doing a Doctorate of Medicine.

For B i'm not so sure, I'm in the same boat a little bit (Clinical Science) , if you overload on credits though it will tell you straight away so you can change it.

With the checkbox, click the checkbox on the blue unit and when it turns green as though its a 'green light' meaning you're okay to do the unit as long as you meet the prerequisites, it worked out just fine for me. If there are any other issues Mq does online tutorials on youtube that guide new undergrad students.

Do the "day option".

4 subjects per semester ( 2 main semesters per year) will have you finishing within the 3 years.

3-4 subjects are classified as a full-time study and you will be eligible for concession opal fares (assuming you are a domestic student).

Yes, do that for the meanwhile.

During the semester once you decide on your major you can enrol in any other compulsory units from your major as necessary (would suggest you talk to a student advisor who can help with timetable in future).

I'd suggest saving your "flexible zone things" (i.e electives) when you start facing more difficult units in years 2/3 of your degree.
