Their album Rust in Peace is essential listening.

Mustaine and Friedman are probably my guitar heroes really and Dave Ellefson is my favourite bassist :p

Dread and the Fugitive mind was the first song i listened to after i finished my last HSC exam </sentimentality>.

Oh and i saw them live in 06... they closed with Holy Wars which is a total marathon of a song to play.

Pity Mustaine changes the lineup so often, i miss ellefsons basslines :(

Yeah i was there too, awesome show (they had a few sound tech problems for the first song but they sorted it out).

I saw them at Gigantour in 07 ... good times.

The Gigantour lineup this up this year is ass - in flames, children of bodom, job for a cowboy  Old in flames isn't too bad, new stuff isn't good by any measure.

I'd kill to see the following bands
Carcass - sif play at wacken :'(
Testament - come back to aus, though I heard they are soon.
Agalloch - not a very public bunch
Gojira - Not big enough to start touring internationally I'd think but they're shaping up to be fantastic. I have "The Link Alive" dvd, its fantastic.
annnd probably Quo Vadis, even if its just to see Yanic Bercier play.

Any of you people seen their newest guitarist play? His name is Chris Boderick :p he plays 7 strings and i hope that does influence dave mustaine to start playing one. I'd rathern to have to tune to B standard to play new songs if they release more material. He was in Jag Panzer if any of you listened to them ever.

He pwns though... here he is doing some tapping sweeps http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=xkpZ645ztl0

one of my favourite bands.

will always defend them against the metallica obsessed fans.

bit annoyed at dave for always changing the lineup.

its essentially megadave.

the mustaine/friedman/effelson/menza lineup will always be my fave.

and im also annoyed because i want megadeth to come to oz by themselves.

none of this gigantour bullshit.

i want to see just megadeth........none of the other bands.

like a 2 hour + set.

lol I like metallica more but i seriously love these two bands. Yes that lineup was the best. Did any of you guys ever watch the VH1 behind the music for Megadeth? It's pretty good (it might still be on youtube). I also watched the making of youthanasia videos on youtube too (theyre good too :-D ).

And yes it would be great if megadeth came by themselves but when i saw them at the gigantour they did a fairly long set man. They were probably out there at 9ish and packed up at a bit past 11.
The wait would have been more tolerable if a) caliban weren't shit, and b) arch enemy were in 3rd slot, not soulfly (who i hate).

Have you seen them live Iwannarock?
