i used to make a poem thing
using the letters....wat's it called again?
like

H-arry
He-lped
Li-nda
Be-reak...

you get the idea...

it'd be extremely long, but you can try breaking it up into smaller sections

- or you can try making them the words to a song =) that sticks well too

Has my joke book started a sensation!?!

Also, go prison break style, and tatoo the periodic table to your body.

Why must you memorise the periodic table when you get one every assessment task?

If you do feel the absolute need to memorise it....I think it's highly effective to learn by groups (colomns if you like) rather than periods (rows)...learn what are the group 1-8 elements are, then make sure you can identify the transitional metals, their valencies, etc. Because its more important to know how many electrons are on the outer shell rather than how many shells are filled....

You could try to make the first letters of each element into a sentence or you start from hydrogen and then go hydrogen, helium and slowly learn them. You will be able to get a particular rhythm. Thats how I remembered the first 20. Hopeless with others though. Lol.

Just memorise it, write it down, and keep on repeating this until you've had enough

Try acronyms, e.g BCNOF (pronounced bocknoff).

By the way, it really isn't necessary to learn the periodic table. You get in your trials and final exams and most of your assessments.

I thought in every exam you were provided with a periodic table. That's how it works at my school, anyway.

Yeah,it's always stapled at the end in our exams. A few people don't realise thatin an exam, and they start to panic when they don't know that it's at the back page ;)

Every chem and physics exam - that is.

An old science teacher knows a dirty version of how to remember the elements. I was in year 8 at the time so he didn't tell me what it was.
