Yes, i did it last year
It was really interesting and i actually learnt quite alot about essay writing. If you're into philosophy it's very good, and most of the time they don't get too complicated, however occasionally it can get dense.

But it really interesting and i'd recommend it to anyone.

yeah i'm doing the final essay now....i found it really interesting and heaps of fun.....especially the campus week.....good idea to do it. i'd reccommend it to anyone

also, you do learn a crapload about essay writing. they explain exactly how you should write uni essays.

so is it really hard to get into? how academically supercool do you have to be?

not very......but you'll find that most of the people there are pretty smart....

are we talking heaps of first-ranked people?
if so i'm royally screwed.

would past attendance at things like GERRIC workshops help?

They don't ask you about that, only reports and something good from your principal or the Mind and Morality organiser. I was about to join, but the organiser was lazy and made me do shit that he's meant to do...

there, that should clear things up. it's just about listening and getting your head around the stuff. you don't have to be super-smart. gerric courses probably won't help. if you want, i can pm you an example essay that you do to show you what it's like

nah....they run this course in semester 2 and they also run it in the summer holidays....
