This year the textbook was replaced with, literally, a brand new textbook.

FIRST edition published 2015.

How important is it for us to get this textbook? Can we learn enough from lectures or do I NEED this book?

I managed to learn well enough to get a CR with just lecture notes and I'm a pretty bad student.

If you want to save money, dont buy the book, just copy everything Olsen wrote, it's more than enough

Also try to get the class tests from previous years (easily done if you join those facebook groups).
