Hi, my ranks have drastically fallen from =3/230 in yr11 to =85/190 (80% mark) in year 12... I really need an academic comeback from this, and I know a band 6 is practically impossible at this rate, but I'm aiming for a mid band 5. I'm averaging 80%, and my school isn't ranked that high. We have a Mod C examination in week 3 next term, and I'm aiming for 90%, which consists of a 12-mark creative piece and 8-mark reflection. I'm wondering how much I would need to write for each part and how to incorporate the stimulus into a pre-planned creative piece.

I haven’t done mod C yet, but my teacher said it’s best to write your reflection first, then your narrative so it has a clear structure/direction + it’s easier to incorporate the motif then. For each part I’d recommend a minimum of at least 900 words, if u can aim for 1100 ( max).

Ooh ok tyyy! Idk how to reach that word count tho in 40 mins I was planning on doing 6 for the creative and 3 for the reflection, idk if that would be enough I have to figure it out 🥲

1k is too much to write for a 12 marker, like thats just not feasible in the amount of time u have. that word count is more appropriate for a 20 mark.

6 and 3 sounds good i think? ask ur teacher tho they'll be able to tell u what theyre expecting for a b6 range response.
when u read the stimulus look for motifs they use, or something in the stim that could become ur motif. look for overall ideas/meanings that it has and replicate stylistic choices the author makes. use direct words from it in ur own writing.
