Hi, I'm struggling to come up with ideas for my Mod C exam and need help.
The main idea is explorartion (not literally).
I'm also not sure on what style of writing I should do as English is my weakest subject 😭

Also will there be specific Mod C question in the HSC?

pick a writer or short story u liked the style of and just replicate it. look at past band 6 examples for mod c and their style.
i always say to do something metafictive, english markers seem to froth over it. its usually pretty adaptable too

For my internal assessment we can write whichever style with a reflection (12%/8%), we'll be given a stimulas which is unseen but as I said the main idea is exploration so it should be fine if I write a discursive.

Also what other subjects did you do for year 12

Some of the discursives my classmates did were directly based off spotty-handed villainesses with topics like the representation of Disney villains (comparing male and female villains as such) and the intricacies of their personalities. Depending on who your marker is, their interpretation of incorporating the stimulus in a piece can be quite varied. I've seen examples where people got away with superficially adding words from the stimulus without building on its ideas though utilising and expanding on any figurative language from the stimulus in your piece would be ideal.

What are your other prescribed texts? I had spotty handed villainesses, the awakening by Kate Chopin, and the lady of shalott by lord Alfred Tennyson, where spotty handed was more suited towards a discursive.

theyre in my signature but i did advanced, extension english, legal studies, modern history, society and culture, and studies of religion 1.

I didnt do spotty handed villainesses but i can send you my discursive/discursive ideas that i adapted on the spot to the stimulus (b6 in hsc) and (if i can find them) two examples i have of different writing styles for discursives.

I don't have much analysis for spotty handed since I didn't end up using it. I can check for the other 2 and sample discursives/narratives if you need.

Yes that would be helpful also if you have any notes on:
Merchant of Venice (common mod)
The Tempest/Hag-Seed
T.S Eliot (poems)

Speaking from experience, it'll never hurt to include some element of writing / storytelling in your piece. As in, having the main character engage in the craft of writing in some way. Given that it's the whole module, lots of questions / stimuli are pretty easy to link to that. I ended up with a discursive about language that got me rlly good marks during internal exams, and strong marks during the hsc (although it wasn't my best module).

Can you expand more on what about language you wrote in your discursive?
Also what were you prescribed texts?
