Does anyone have a complete summary for John Donne
what are we meant to summarise anyway??

i guess you are meant to have a summary of each of his hsc poems... but i dont think getting someone elses, poetry is a matter of you analysing it for yourself and people who get the high marks have to be able to do this...

i.e pick out a line from one of the poems, identify the techniques and what Donne is trying to convey

But analysing just the poems is just a "close study of texts"-- standard course whereas John Donne is a critical study of text

point being u need to know critical interpretations and apply them to your argument in the essay?

for instance you could take samuel johnson's line of argument that donne's style has too much focus on trying to be intellectual

so u need to closely study the text *and* do critical readings
