when i was about 11 i tried to read LOTR

fucking pissed me off and i've hating LOTR since

The Handmaid's Tale by Margaret Atwood.

Of all the books I was forced to read in school, this was the only one I hated. All the others in speculative fiction for Extension One were epic though. Just not this feminist pile of shit.

handmaid's tale was bearable, not nearly as bad as Frankenstein the year before!

lol. i read this book about a guy who did just that...read the entire oxford english dictionary, the most massive dictionary around. it's called 'reading the OED' by ammon shea:

it was actually a really good book. the guy is a nutcase though. but very entertaining

And..the books by Ann.M.Martin (Babysitters club. God those books keep repeating themselves) I can't believe I actually read them in primary school and I still have a huge collection of those books sitting on my bookshelf collecting dust

oh dear god, me too! i used to be SO into those...recently i went and threw most of my old collection into the recycling bin...and i NEVER throw books out, i usually keep them or pass them onto someone else. but no one should be subjected to the BSC. 'i'm 11 years old and i have a steady boyfriend'...as if, no one has serious relationships like that at eleven.
