Silly mistakes are the most common, unfortunately.

When looking for the area of curves using intergration, is it necessary to put the +C? My teacher said no because it cancels out but I feel as though the markers would want to see that we understand integration by adding that +C

No need for a +C, because C is just a constant of a function that you integrated.

Anyway, in some cases, if you get a negative time or a negative distance, then you would have done something wrong.

I can't speak for everyone but my most common mistakes are :
not including the +c
not converting to radians
not changing the limits of integrals
forgeting the square root in the perp. distance formula
doing calculations in my head and stuffing it up (i just use calculator now even for simple things like 21+39)
